Ummm so it's been awhile....

I started this blog and have been a slacker about keeping up with it. In my defense the boys do keep me a little busy. They are almost 18 months old now and into EVERYTHING! I love this age and it also is driving me a teensy bit crazy at the same time. I love watching them grow and learn and they are starting to say so much cute stuff. ( I will put a list of our words at the bottom) But the fits, OMG the fits, they are back arching, screaming, head banging fit throwers. I am hoping it is just because they can't communicate well yet and something they will grow out of and sooner, rather than later. They are getting tubes in there ears at the end of the month so hopefully that will help us stay out of the doctors office so much and maybe even help with there talking. The ENT said its hard to learn to talk if you always have ear infections and can't hear clearly. I wish we weren't having to get tubes but hope they turn out to be something good for us.

Words the boys say:
Bubba
Dadda or Daddy
Mama or Mommy
Briley
Brady
Deer
Eyes
No
Uh Oh
Ball
Dog
Thank you
Hi
Bye Bye
Bite
Num Num
Hot
M&M

They can also sign for more and they are working on learning please. MDO has been wonderful for all of us.

My Favorite Things

Thought I would share a few of mine and the boys favorite items so far.

Little Lamb Swings- We outgrew these at about 6 months but they were a life saver early one

Boppies- Could not have fed two babies without them and still use them occasionally

Exersaucer & Jumpers- Greatest way to contain a baby and keep them entertained ever!

Summer Video Monitor- Can't imagine my life without them

It's been awhile since my last blog but things are still just trucking along with us here. No walking yet but we have teeth galore. Briley now has 4 and Brady has 8. And it looks like Briley may be a biter, he loves to try and bite his brothers head. Although in his defense, Brady is always tackling him or just running over him and playing a little rough. And I am also happy to report that after a little crying, everyone is sleeping though the night again! WOOOHOOO!!! Naptime is almost over so more later...

A Typical Day

Having two babies means we have to be on a pretty strict schedule, without it our life is mayhem. No one will nap at the same time everyone is fussy and mommy wants to pull her hair out. This is why we don't go very many places or let anyone babysit hardly because everything goes to crap really fast.

7am- wake up and have bottle or part of bottle

play until breakfast

8am- breakfast- usually babyfood cereal and some cheerios

play some more and finish bottle

9am-11am Nap time (lasts 2 hours if i am really lucky)

play some more or run errands

12pm- lunch time

play or go visiting

2ish naptime and a bottle

wake up from nap and play visit etc

6pm dinner

7:30 bathtime

8:00 bedtime

I know I need to put everything in God's Hands but I am just a worrier...

Last night and today were rough. The boys did not want to sleep last night, which is unusual for them. We started letting them cry it out at about 7 months and they have slept good ever since. But last night was a bad night. Lots of crying and the new deal that complicates things...standing up on the side of the crib. Which creates the dilemma, do you leave them alone (because usually us going in but not getting them just makes them cry more) or go and help them get down. I hate sitting there holding my breath watching them on the video monitor going please baby go back to sleep, you can do it. The whole time terrified that they are going to fall out on the really hard wood floors or fall back and hit there little heads on the cribs. Just one more thing to worry about. Turns out I am a worrier. Ever since the boys were born I worry about all kinds of stuff. Little stuff, big stuff, CRAZY stuff, I worry about it all and I probably will for the rest of my life. I know I need to turn it over to God and he will always watch over my boys because they are his children to but it is just hard. A little more whining here sorry but for some reason the rough night led to very little napping today and Brady is usually an excellent napper. Hence very fussy babies and a cranky tired mommy. But I still love my little guys, just feel like I don't have a clue what I am doing sometimes. Fingers are crossed for a better night tonight and a fun day tomorrow. There was one high point to my day today...lots of mamas from the boys :)

My first blog...

A little about me and my family....I am Amber the mother of twin boys Briley & Brady who were born July 30th 2010. Steven and I have been married now for almost 6 years. We are so blessed to have our boys. We went through a few years where we might nver have our little family. Now it just feels so right and so complete. I am very lucky to get to stay home with my boys and watch them reach each new milestone and hear all there little laughs. They are already different little people, Briley is very laid back most of the time and observant, he doesn't miss anything going on around him and he is very lovey, loves to be held and give kisses. Brady is very active, and not scared of anything he is always exploring and trying something new.

Yesterday was both a sad and fun day. It was my great aunt Nora's funeral and also my grandads 88th Birthday. We had dinner at my grandparents. BBQ & Beer! The boys (who are now a little over 8 months old) loved the bbq sausage, fresh pear, and potatoes, squash and zucchini. I didn't think they were ever going to quit eating. Those boys love to eat and I am so glad they are good eaters. I can't believe we are already almost completely on table food, crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything. Brady may be the fastest crawler ever. If there was a baby Olympics I think he could take the gold haha, And Briley would get first for form, he had very good form. I could not imagine my life without them, they complete us.
